The grapes are always macerated and slowly pressed, and the firmly structured wines are bottled late and with lower sulfur doses than usual in the Mosel Valley. The results are complex and expressive wines for fans of well-structured rather than beautifully flavored, easy-drinking Rieslings. Lovers of Loire Chenin might be pretty happy with this style.
