Domaine Laurent Tribut

Laurent Tribut, who is the brother-in-law of Vincent Dauvissat, picks this 5.2 ha domaine by hand and in fact, shares the same picking team with Dauvissat. The retiring and somewhat shy Tribut told me that he "began picking on the 22nd of September and brought in clean fruit with potential alcohols of 12 to 13%. Because of a troubled flowering, there were a lot of shot berries, which is always a good news/bad news proposition. The bad news is that yields were at least 20% less than a normal crop but the compensating side of it is that the resulting wines are impressively concentrated. As to the wines, the '10s are classic and extremely attractive because of their typicity and energy and overall, I prefer them to the '09s. BURGHOUND

The domaine consists of 5.2 hectares of vineyards, which includes holdings in three 1er crus; Beauroy, Côte de Lechet and Montmains. Yields are severely restricted in the vineyard while in the cuverie the winemaking here is traditional, with the grapes being fermented in temperature-controlled enamelled tanks, then being matured in old oak barrels.
