Delamere Vineyard

Delamere was one of the first vineyards planted in the Pipers Brook area. It had previously been a diverse fruit orchard and market garden,attesting to the fertile soils. A new chapter has opened for Delamere, with Shane Holloway and wife Fran Austin (ex Bay of Fires) now in charge of viticulture and winemaking. The journey has begun (Delamere was purchased by Shane, Fran and their respective families in 2007), but there are challenges and equally great opportunities lying ahead. The old vines still need some TLC, but there will also be 4ha of pinot noir and chardonnay planted at the end of 12. JAMES HALLIDAY, The Australian Wine Companion 2012
