de Sousa & Fils

This company was founded in 1986. Erick de Sousa owns six hectares in Avize, Cramant, and Oger, where the average age of the vines is thirty-five years old. Erick is very goal oriented and has surely taken a peek at the success of Selosse, imitating them in many ways in terms of work in the vineyard and treh process of vinification itself. Since 1995, oak barrels from Chablis have been used for all wines from the fifty-year-old stocks, of which 15% are new oak. The wines are never Chaptalized and every plot is vinified separately. This company already has a very good reputation, despite having been on the Champagne scene for only a short time. RICHARD JUHLIN, 4000 Champagnes
