Corte Lavel
The estate is a total 11ha, 6ha of which are under vine, 4 of olive groves and 1 of forest. It is owned by the Campedeli family who also own Marion. Located in the Marcillese valley along with Marion. It was originally part of the Marion estate but was sold in the early 90’s as it is on the opposite side of the valley and was considered too cool to ripen high quality grapes. However, with the advent of global warming the vineyards now ripen and produce a very elegant style of Amarone and Ripassa so was purchased back in 2017. The wines are 100% traditional varieties consisting of predominantly corvina along with rondinella, molinara and corvione. The vineyards are east facing and are grown on clay based soils. The aim at Corte Lavel is to produce an elegant style of Ripassa and Amarone. Stefano Campedeli emphasises that by using only traditional varieties this level of freshness is attained. PWS
