Catalina Sounds
The name Catalina Sounds evolved from the majestic Catalina Flying Boats that played a vital role across the South Pacific during and after World War II. Our home vineyard is high on a ridge in Marlborough’s Waihopai Valley. At the elevation of 600 feet it enjoys hot summers and very cool winters; ideal conditions for growing cool climate varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir. Our winemaking philosophy focuses on the fruit, sourcing the best grapes from the different sub-regions within Marlborough. www.nzwine.com
