Caroline Morey

Caroline Morey, who is the wife and winemaking partner of Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey (director of Domaine Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey) and the daughter of Jean-Marc Morey, has founded her own domaine. She also had the opportunity to take over another Santenay-based domaine that, among other holdings, has a parcel of Criots-Bâtard, which will make for a lovely duo when her father's parcel of Bâtard joins the fold in 2017. Daughter of Jean-Marc Morey and wife of Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey, Caroline’s family is something of a powerhouse in the region. Recently Caroline has acquired some holdings of her own, after her father retired, and the wines are now being made with her husband. Winemaking is the same as PYCM, 350L barrels, no battonage for the whites and wild yeast. The results are, as you would expect, intense and driven styles that mirror those of Pierre-Yves. ROSCOE
