BORGOGNO MASTERCLASS SYDNEY

Tuesday 23rd June 6:30pm Start

Join us for a deep dive into one of Piemonte’s most historic estates, exploring the timeless wines of Borgogno.
Founded in 1761, Giacomo Borgogno & Figli is one of the oldest estates in the region, and that history isn’t just marketing — it’s embedded in how the wines are made. The house has long championed a traditional style of Barolo: long macerations, large Slavonian botti, and an emphasis on structure, longevity, and transparency of site over polish or immediacy.
From vibrant, approachable expressions like Barbera d’Alba and Langhe Nebbiolo to the unmistakable structure of Barolo, this tasting captures the full arc of Nebbiolo’s potential. We’ll explore both youthful energy and the complexity that only time can bring, with standout examples from the celebrated 2019 vintage. Single-vineyard Barolos such as Liste and Cannubi reveal the nuance of site, structure, and longevity that define the region. Alongside these, the cult “No Name” Barolo offers a fascinating counterpoint, challenging tradition while remaining deeply rooted in it.
To finish, we’ll pour the iconic Chinato Borgogno — a richly spiced, aromatised wine that speaks to the house’s heritage. Whether you’re deepening your knowledge or simply looking to drink exceptionally well, this is a masterclass not to be missed.

This event will be hosted by Dispensing Solutions' Suzanna Cole alongside a Q&A with Borgogno's Luca Collia.
