Benjamin et David Duclaux

Domaine Duclaux, run by David and his younger brother Benjamin, has become of Cote Rotie’s leading producers. They have 5½ hectares of vines located in Tupin et Semons and in the southern sector of Côte-Rôtie. They have holdings in Maison Rouge, Coteau de Tupin, Tupin, le Collet, Coteau de Bassenon and Pimotin. The soils here are Gneiss and much softer than the granite soils further North. The Duclaux brothers work in the vineyards without insecticides and herbicides. All the work in the vineyards is entirely done by hand. They use little new oak in their winemaking. The style of the wines is one of elegance and with beautiful balance and concentration. JON
