Arras

FIVE STAR WINERY
In 1994 Hardys purchased its first grapes from Tasmania with the aim of further developing and refining its sparkling wines, a process that quickly gave birth to Arras. The next stage was the inclusion of various parcels of chardonnay from Tasmania in the 1998 Eileen Hardy, then the development in 2001 of the Bay of Fires brand, offering wines sourced from various parts of Tasmania. The winery was originally that of Rochecombe, then Ninth Island, and now, of course, Bay of Fires. Its potential has now been fully realised in the most impressive imaginable fashion. JAMES HALLIDAY, The Wine Companion 2011
