We are delighted and fortunate to have been chosen to host a very special dinner celebrating 100 years of Diana Madeline. If she was still cruising around the vineyard, matriarch Diana Madeline would have been 100 years old this year. As much as her husband, Kevin, Diana was a driving force in establishing Cullen as one of Australia's most iconic estates. Indeed, her influence was so great that the daughter and current head of Cullen, Vanya, decided to name the estate's most iconic wine, the Cabernet blend, in her honour. That wine is an enduring reminder of a drive for perfection few have ever matched in Australian wine.
So, when Vanya approached us to have a commemorative dinner, it was a no-brainer. Actually, if Vanya wants to do a dinner with us, it's always a no-brainer. She's one of this country's greatest winemakers and wine thinkers so whenever she's in the house it's a pleasure.
This very special dinner will pivot around an amazing selection of vintages, both current and some drawn from Vanya's own museum stock. It will be a dinner but also a great wine event so we hope you can make it along. Of course, Nicky Riemer has created a special menu for the night.
