Slightly peppery, but also deliciously floral and inviting, with a mix of red and black fruits, and what might be called a strong, gently earthy ferrous thing going on. It's pure and clean, the acidity pitch-perfect, fine white pepper tannin, energy and clarity, and a long stony finish with wafts of perfume trailing. It's the quiet ones you have to watch… GARY WALSH, winefront.com

The striking thing about Dry River's 2017 Pinot Noir is its rose-blossom perfume, which seems to persist even on the palate and through the lengthy finish. Yes, there are barely-ripe cherries, a silky, medium-bodied feel on the palate and subtle hints of mocha and spice, but the overwhelming impression is one of floral elegance. While some vintages of this wine need time in the cellar, this is immediately approachable, yet it should drink well for up to decade. JOE CZERWINKSI, wineadvocate.com

This has a very rich and complex nose with plenty of red fruit, anise and bracken, as well as deeper, earthy tones. The palate delivers a very fluid and fleshy impression with plush, rich and dark cherries and berries in abundance. Smoothly polished tannins. Drink now. Screw cap. JAMES SUCKLING
