Pertois-Moriset

Pertois-Moriset, located as Récoltant-Manipulant in Mesnil-sur-Oger, is owned by Cécile Pertois. Her family cultivates 18.5 hectares of vines of which 12 hectares are located in Grand Cru sites of the Côte des Blancs (100% Chardonnay) and 6.5 hectares in the Coteaux Sézannais (60% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay). The cuvées are produced in a very well equipped winery that was installed in 2009. The winemaker is Vincent Bauchet, Cécile's husband, who presented me three cuvées last year in Reims. All the cuvées spend at least three years on the second fermentation lees. To maintain the freshness, malolactic fermentation is blocked. After disgorgement, the wine is stored for another six or 12 months in the cave. STEPHAN REINHARDT, The Wine Advocate
